Description

Deviled Dreams, my ponysona. Contrary to popular assumption I can draw in a more "show authentic" style, however weather or not I practice this style enough is defiantly up for discussion.

I don't know what it is, but I am captivated by this art style. It looks fantastic, from the fading of blue to brown on her hooves and chest, to her simple yet elegant hair and mane, finished off by her nonchalant gaze really makes this stand out. You even added a fade effect on the tail to give it more dimension because you knew it would look like it was just floating on her butt without it. Her eyes are relatively simple compared to the show, however, I believe this was good choice on your part because having those over-detailed eyes would have actually detracted from the piece's overall simplicity, and by not having them allows you to enjoy the rest of the piece without being constantly drawn to the eyes. The cutie mark keeps to the idea of simplicity, but to be honest it is a tad too simple. I haven't the faintest idea what her special talent is; whether this was to create the aura of mystery or just to keep things simple, I would like to know a bit more about this pony and cutie mark isn't telling me much. The only other thing I would add to this piece is that she seems to lack an ear indent. I don't know if that is for this particular style of art, but it looks a bit plain and I think it would add more to the piece with it. Overall though, this is just an example of great artwork and I want to see more of this style.
